We are grateful to all the musicians and everyone who attended our first concert and helped us raise funds for our music programmes in Palestine.

The Palestinian musicians, Mohammed Najem, Lourdina Baboun and Ramzi Shomali joined the acclaimed Chilingirian Quartet in an eclectic programme of Western Classical and Arabic music. Wissam Boustany made a guest performance with his own composition ”Broken Child” and spoke to the audience about the value of music in times of political unrest and humanitarian crisis.

The funds raised will sponsor one British teacher at the ESNCM for the academic year 2015/6 and will also support scholarships to new students at the Gaza Music School.

The programme of the evening included:

Mohammed Najem: De Bethlehem A Angers, Al Asmar El Lon, Improvisation

W. A. Mozart: Violin Sonata K454

Wissam Boustany: Broken Child

Robert Schumann: Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44

You can buy one of the musicians’ CD’s and support our sponsorship programme. Please contact us for more information.
