ENABLING UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN TO STUDY MUSIC IN PALESTINE
Working with the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music (ESNCM) and other established music institutions and teachers across Palestine, we are committed to bringing music to all Palestinians regardless of their financial situation. We want to ensure that all Palestinians can enjoy the benefits of studying music and take part in cultural activities that will contribute to their well-being and enrich their lives.
Since a large portion of the ESNCM students come from deprived areas and lower class backgrounds, the programme has also contributed to diversifying and enriching the Palestinian music scene through creating opportunities for all students to pursue their passion for music. Palmusic UK supports the ESNCM’S mission to provide quality music education to all Palestinian children regardless of their economic situation and background. The sponsorship programmes creates an opportunity for unprivileged children to learn music, participate in music performances and cultural activities and develop personal and social skills.
In the academic year of 2014/5, five students from Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus and Gaza benefitted from Palmusic’s Contribution towards the Sponsorship Programme:
Jamil Khader (12, Drums), Maya Atwan (12, Flute), Mas Dabour (19, Cello), Sabah Al Sayeh (17, Cello), Ramzi Al Far (13, Percussion).
Please consider making a donation to sponsor a student and give them the opportunity to discover the benefits of learning music.
