The Kings Place Festival of World Cultures: Voices of Palestine
Saturday 1 November 2025 | Kings Place, London
Tickets available mid-August via www.kingsplace.co.uk
Immerse yourself in the rich world of Palestine culture for a day. A feast for all senses, where you can meander through the market bazaar, find yourself in awe of the art, mesmerised by the music, a bazaar filled to the brim with folklore, fabrics, traditional Palestinian food, lose yourself in the sensuous spices, silks, embroidery, clothing and textiles - vintage to modern. Browse your way through the bookshops, delight in the Dabke dance or the screenings of Palestinian films with discussion panels afterwards. You can sit in on our salon to hear conversations with extraordinary people. All of this leading to a wonderful evening of music with the acclaimed 35-piece all female choir Banat al-Quds/Daughters of Jerusalem with special guests, hosted by PalMusic UK, the UK charity supporting the music education programmes of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, Palestine.
Banat al-Quds/The Daughters of Jerusalem and the ensemble have an extraordinary story to share. Music is a lifeline for these young performers – fueling their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It is a vital source of identity, cultural pride and resilience to survive against the odds, despite the traumas endured daily. Their aim is to change the narrative of Palestine and open hearts and minds through music, celebrating their humanity and rich cultural heritage.
