In the second instalment of our online concert series, PalMusic UK’s Follow the Star concert featured performances and interviews with three exceptional Arab musicians.

Pianist and educator Tala Tutunji performed a beautiful rendition of Ala Dal’ona by the Composer Tarek Younis; Tamer Sahouri, oud player, composer and and Academic Director at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music (ESNCM), performed Al Ghirba; and Layth Sidiq, award winning violinist, composer and educator performed Bachawand, an interpretation of a composition by Johann Sebastian Bach.

We were also treated to special festive performances from The Edward Said National Conservatory of Music’s (ESNCM) Children’s Orchestra and The Bethlehem Choir.

Our musicians were joined by Afif Safieh, a Palestinian diplomat, former PLO Mission Representative to the United States and Ambassador to the Vatican, the U.K., and the Russian Federation. He was involved in the 1988 Stockholm negotiations that led to the first official American-Palestinian dialogue.
