On 9th August 2022 Steven Isserlis performed in All Saints Church, Mapperton in aid of PalMusic UK. Acclaimed worldwide for his profound musicianship and technical mastery, cellist Steven Isserlis enjoys a unique and distinguished career as a soloist, chamber musician and many other things.

He performed with pianist Melvyn Tan who established his international reputation in the 1980s with pioneering performances on fortepiano and continues to cast fresh light on music conceived for the piano’s early and modern forms. Melvyn’s work as recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist has been heard at many of the world’s leading concert halls.

They played the Schubert Arpeggione Sonata and the Moscheles Sonata Op 121. Franz Schubert wrote the Arpeggione Sonata in Vienna in November 1824 and Ignaz Moscheles the Sonata Op, 121 in 1851.

The concert proceeds have been divided between PalMusic (see below), a charity of Steven’s choice and Mapperton Gardens.

This concert took place due to a very generous donation at PalMusic’s online auction in 2021.
